Simply put - Central Michigan 2-1-1 connects people in need to health and human service resources in the community.  Through an easy to remember number, available 24/7, 365 days within 9 counties in Central Michigan; Clinton, Eaton, Genesee, Hillsdale, Jackson, Lenawee, Livingston and Shiawassee Counties.  Specialists provide information, referrals, navigation and advocacy when people are looking for help or to give help in the community.  2-1-1 maintains an up-to-date, comprehensive database of resources and programs available and reports trending needs and gaps identified in our community.

Anyone! If you're looking for assistance with a problem and you don't know where to turn, or you simply want information about a certain human service issue, 2-1-1 is for you.

Central Michigan 2-1-1 serves 1.5 million residents in Clinton, Eaton, Genesee, Hillsdale, Ingham, Jackson, Lenawee, Livingston & Shiawassee Counties and partners with 6 other 2-1-1 centers across Michigan as part of a Statewide 2-1-1 Network.  If you are outside our service region, click here to find the 2-1-1 nearest you!

How Does 2-1-1 Work?

There's no magic words or phrases to say...just contact 2-1-1, and let the staff know your situation.  An I&R Specialist may ask questions to full understand, help problem solve, screen to ensure they provide the most appropriate resource information to guide your next steps to seek help from resources in the community.  2-1-1 does not provide funds directly, but helps you know the best place to contact. 

Who Answers the 2-1-1 Calls?

At Central Michigan 2-1-1, all contacts are answered by staff with knowledge about a variety of health and human service areas.  Central Michigan 2-1-1 National Accredited by AIRS (Alliance of Information & Referral Systems) and locally endorsed by Michigan-AIRS (Michigan - Alliance of Information & Referral Systems).
